IOC - UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission

WCRP - World Climate Research Programme - identifies scientific and research requirements for GRUAN, while WMO identifies operational requirements.

WG-GRUAN - Composition of WG-GRUAN (AOPC Working Group on the GCOS Reference Upper-air Network) to be determined by the AOPC in consultation with WMO and should include one representative from each of CIMO (Commission for Instruments and Methods of Observation), INFCOM (Commission for Observation, Infrastructure and Information Systems); these representatives will be responsible for reporting back to their respective Technical Commission;
