On 1 April Cabauw was officially inaugurated as a certified GRUAN site. During a brief ceremony, attended by the KNMI-directorate and the head of the department of Infrastructure and Environment of the Netherlands, the GRUAN-plaque was ceremonially revealed and the GRUAN certificate was officially handed over by the Lead Centre to Cabauw's site manager, Arnoud Apituley.
